ICA CAR WASH SHOW

ICA CAR WASH SHOW LAS VEGAS,NV
APRIL 4-2,3,4-09
I have just returned from the recent ICA show that was held in Las Vegas.
Everyone knows that the past couple of years in the car wash industry have been horrible. Attendance was expected to be down and it was. But, compared to last year in Orlando the energy on the floor really terrific. All of the vendor booths seem to be active. Attendees were buying. The amount of "tire kickers" was a lot less. It was apparent that people who invested their time to come to this show came with intent to buy or to see what was knew. In my opinion, it was a worthwhile show.
One of the neat changes that ICA made was to place the registration area at the entrance to the show floor. Kudos to whomever came up with this idea. It made for a whole different feeling.
There are folks in this business who are asking if the show was worthwhile and soliciting opinions from those who were there. If you really are that interested why don't you go and find out for yourself. The people who were there made an investment and it paid off.
One note to the folks on the ICA board. I know you are trying to keep people on the show floor for the last day but it's not working. You need to do something about it. It costs not only the association but the vendors as well, a significant amount of extra money to hang around for the last day. There was a time when this wasn't the case. Have you given thought to eliminating the last day? You should.
Next years show will once again be in Vegas. Thank goodness this change was made. I was never a fan of moving the show around. If we have a better car washing year attendance should be much better.
This is my first blog. If anyone has topics or suggestions that should discussed please let me know. I can be reached at smlcwconsulting@aol.com. Or visit my web site at www.cleancarconsulting.com. It's pretty neat.
That's it for now.
